Domains per package and moving a domain

You can include one or more domains in a hosting package. How many depends on your package. Two screens help you see and manage which domain is in which package.

Domains per package

Go to My Products in the menu and click the Domains per package tab.

The Domains per hosting package screen with a package and its domain
Domains per package
  • With Show hosting you see which domains are in each package. With Show domains you see which package each domain is in.
  • Use the search bar to search for a domain or package.
  • Next to each package, you can see how many domains it contains out of the maximum, for example 1 / 1 domains in this package.
  • Use Unlink to remove a domain from the package. It then becomes a domain registration only.

Please note: if you remove a domain from a hosting package, all data for that domain in the package is deleted: the website, the e-mail and the settings. Make a backup first. If you're not adding a new domain, lower the number of domains in the package under Configurable options on the product page. Otherwise, you'll keep paying for it the following year. See Changing options and extra IP addresses.

Moving a domain

Use the Move tab in My Domains to move domains to another package, to a new package, or to domain registration only.

The Move screen with step 1 Select domains and step 2 Choose destination
Moving domains
  1. Select domains: click the domains you want to move. If you have many domains, you can search.
  2. Choose destination: Domain registration only (manage the domain without hosting), New package (choose from the list which package you want to have created) or one of your existing packages. For each package, you can see how many domains it allows.
  3. Click the button in the bottom right. It shows how many domains you're about to move.
  4. The Confirm move window opens. Check the domains and the destination.
  5. Leave Move DNS along ticked if you want to keep your current DNS records. Records pointing to our server are then automatically updated to the new server.
  6. Tick the two boxes to confirm that you understand the consequences and have a backup of your DNS.
  7. Click Confirm move, or Cancel.

Checking before you move

Please note: when moving a domain out of a hosting package, the website and e-mail for that domain in the package are deleted. So make a backup of your website and e-mail first, as well as of your DNS (see Restoring DNS and creating a DNS backup). If you choose a new package, you'll receive an invoice for it.

Do you want to add a domain to a package you already have? Choose that package as the destination. If the package is full, the Your package is full window will ask if you want to increase the number of domains. You'll see what this costs. Use Yes, increase and move to arrange both at once; the amount will appear on your next invoice.
