Chapter 2 · 2.11
Solving login problems
Having trouble logging in to DirectAdmin? Below you'll find the most common causes and how to solve them. If you're still stuck, submit a ticket or ask the AI assistant in My WebOké.
I don't see a DirectAdmin button in My WebOké
- Your package isn't active. Check the status in My Products. If it shows anything other than Active, for example because there's an outstanding invoice, the button will only reappear once the package is active. Check My Invoices to see if anything is outstanding.
- It's not a hosting package. A Nextcloud package, a standalone domain name or a VPS doesn't have DirectAdmin.
- You're logged in as an extra user. If the account owner has added you as a user with limited permissions, you may not see all the buttons. Ask the owner to give you the right permissions.
I'm logged out immediately, or the login link doesn't work
The login link from My WebOké only works once. Did you refresh an old tab or open a saved link? Click DirectAdmin in My Products again. The session expires after 60 minutes: in that case, simply click the button again too.
My password isn't accepted
- Check that you're using your DA username (usually eight characters, see Finding your server name and DA user name) and not your e-mail address or domain name.
- Your mailbox password doesn't work in DirectAdmin. You need your DA password.
- Not sure? Set a new DA password in My WebOké (see Setting or changing your DA password).
The page doesn't load, or I get a time-out
- Check the address: https://servername:2222. Don't forget the :2222.
- On some networks, such as at work, school or on public wifi, port 2222 is blocked. Try using your mobile network, or log in through My WebOké.
- Your IP address may be blocked. See below.
My IP address is blocked
After a number of failed login attempts, the server blocks your IP address for a while. This also happens if an e-mail or FTP program keeps trying to log in with an old password. You'll notice this because your website, e-mail and DirectAdmin suddenly become unreachable from your internet connection, while they still work on your phone over 4G.
You can check and solve this yourself in My WebOké:
- Go to Support centre and then Am I blocked?.
- Your IP address is already filled in. Click Check.
- If your IP address is blocked, you can unblock it yourself here.

Please note: As soon as you've unblocked it, update the password straight away in the program that caused the block (usually your e-mail program on a computer or phone). Otherwise, you'll be blocked again within a few minutes.
I've enabled Two-Step Authentication and lost my phone
Use one of your backup codes. If you no longer have those either, log in through My WebOké and read Recovery codes, and what to do if you've lost your authenticator.
Still no access?
Submit a ticket via Support centre and then Submit a ticket. Mention which package it concerns, how you're trying to log in and what message you see. Also read Hulp vragen: wat geef je door aan support?.
