The menu: Grid and List

At the top of every page you'll find the DirectAdmin menu. In the top right, two buttons let you choose how that menu looks: Grid or List. Whichever you choose, the sections themselves stay the same.

Grid: everything in view at once

In the Grid view (1), all sections are shown open, in columns per group. This means you see everything straight away and can click directly on what you need. This is the default view, and the one we use in this guide.

The menu in Grid view: seven columns with all DirectAdmin sections
(1) the Grid button: all sections open

List: a tidy row of icons

In the List view (1), you only see a row of icons, one per group. Click a group (2) and a small list with the sections unfolds. This takes up less space, so you see more of the page itself. Handy on a smaller screen.

The menu in List view: a row of icons, with the E-mail Manager list open
(1) the List button, (2) opening a group

Support & HelpHelp (DirectAdmin's own documentation), Tickets, Message Area and API Documentation.
Recommended ApplicationsShortcuts to software you can install with Installatron. If you've already installed something, you may also see My Applications here with your own installations.

Exactly which sections you see depends on your package. With an e-mail package, the menu is much smaller (see Which packages have DirectAdmin, and what do you manage in My WebOké?).

Tip: A few names are translated a bit oddly. Databases is simply what it says, and Catch-All E-mail is found under Advanced Features rather than E-mail Manager. Looking for something you can't find? Try the search function from Quick search with Ctrl+K and Ctrl+J.

Frequently asked questions

The large menu pushes the page down. Can I make it smaller?
Yes, choose List. Or simply scroll down: the page content is below the menu.

I don't see columns, only icons.
Then the view is set to List. Click Grid in the top right to see everything open again.
