Chapter 4 · 4.6
Searching, favourites, recent and tags

The more files you have, the more important it is to find them quickly. Your WebOké Nextcloud has four tools for this.
Search here: filtering within the folder
Type part of the name into the Search here field at the top left (1). The list immediately shows only the files in the current folder that match. Click Search everywhere (2) to search across all your folders. Click the cross to clear the field again.

The search bar at the top: searching everywhere
Click the search bar at the top of the screen, or press Ctrl + K, and type a search term (1). Nextcloud then searches all your files and also the other apps, such as your calendar, contacts and notes. Click a result to open it.

Favourites
Mark files and folders you use often as favourites. Right-click the file and choose Add to favourites (1). A star appears next to it. In the same menu, you'll also see Edit in Nextcloud Office: this button opens the file in Euro-Office.

Click Favourites (1) on the left to see all your favourites together, wherever they are. Favourite folders also appear in the navigation, so you can reach them in one click. Want to remove one from your favourites? Choose Remove from favourites in the menu.

Recent
Under Recent, you'll find the files that were most recently changed, by you or by someone you share them with. Handy if you can't remember where you saved that document from yesterday.
Tags
Tags let you label files regardless of which folder they're in. For example "Tax office" or "Ready for review".
- Right-click the file and choose Manage tags (2 in the image above).
- Type a name into the Search or create tag field. Choose an existing tag or create a new one.
- Click Apply.

Click Tags on the left to see all your tags and, for each tag, all the files that belong to it. Use the Tags filter above the list to show only files with a particular tag in a folder.
Tip: tags you create are visible to everyone in your Nextcloud. So use names that are clear to your colleagues or family members too.
