What is Euro-Office?

Euro-Office is an online office suite: a word processor, a spreadsheet program, a presentation program and a PDF editor, all in one. You use it in your browser, from within your WebOké Nextcloud. You don't need to install anything, and your files simply stay in your own Nextcloud.

A European office suite

Euro-Office was announced in Berlin in March 2026 by a group of European technology companies, including Nextcloud, IONOS and Proton. The goal: a fully fledged alternative to Microsoft Office, developed and managed in Europe. This way, businesses, governments and individuals keep control over their own documents. This is known as digital sovereignty.

Euro-Office is open source. Anyone can view the source code on GitHub. The suite is based on ONLYOFFICE, a well-known online office suite that has handled Word, Excel and PowerPoint files reliably for years. You can read more about its background on Wikipedia.
